ADOPTION DAY SCHEDULE
Please contact us if you intend to visit an adoption event to view rabbits. We will need to be sure that we bring the breed, color, age, or sex of rabbit that you are interested in! Also, please fill out an adoption application (non-binding!). This will help us help you pick the best bun for your family! All events run 2:30-5:30 unless otherwise noted.
Due to the significant drop in adoptions, the cost of gas to transport rabbits to the events, and a temporary lack of enough volunteer assistance at the shelter to easily care for rabbits when Carole is away at an event, Bunny Magic is currently meeting potential adopters in Bowie or Annapolis Maryland and Alexandria, Virginia on an appointment-only basis. However, we do have flexibility and will make every effort to meet you as soon as your application is pre-approved.
Bunny Magic rabbits may also be seen upon request, schedule permitting, mid-week by interested adopters! Please give us a call to arrange.
However, remember that this schedule is subject to change, especially during the winter months when inclement weather can wreck havoc with our plans! Please contact us to confirm.
NOTE: You may be aware that some of the rabbit rescue organizations, and specifically the National House Rabbit Society, have severed all association with PETCO because of their policy of selling rabbits in some of their stores. Bunny Magic is aware of this HRS policy, and while we fully support the efforts of the HRS as a whole, we have decided to maintain our partnerships with the local PETCO stores.
The PETCO stores in the greater Washington DC area are very interested in supporting the efforts of local rescue groups and, in fact, we have more requests to provide store visits and adoption days than we are able to accommodate at this time.
It is our belief that if we educate even these few stores, their management and staff, and their customers, and prevent the sale of rabbits in this region we have, in some small measure, achieved a step toward success in ending all sales of rabbits.
